Just for reference to those who want to fully upgrade their 2017 iMac and to see if it's worth it. Here are some benchmarks from my previous i5 7600k 2TB fusion drive vs upgraded i7 7700k and upgraded SSD's for comparison. Besides Benchmark tests and numbers I did some real world testing on rendering times in Final Cut Pro X, on a 6 min 4k video project with my previous i5 Fusion drive it did it somewhere around the 8-9 min mark (editing off a TB3 external ssd). After my upgrades it did it in 4.5 minutes on the same project both exported to Pro Res 422 HQ. I would say from a video editing experience its worth the upgrade. For photo editing not as much. Also in this video I have a screen recording on temperature test while rendering. Did my delidded i7 7700k CPU help keep the temps down?
