2017 iMac and DDR4 3200MHz

I'm looking for upgrading the RAM for my 2017 27" iMac. I know Apple recommends DDR4 2400MHz SODIMM. But I see that we now have DDR4 3200MHz SODIMM. Any idea if this will work with my iMac? If it works, would it operate at 3200MHz or 2400MHz?
