I have a bit of a puzzle which I hope some more knowledgeable posters can help me with.
Hardware :
1)ipad pro 2nd gen
2)Early 2008 imac :

But has working wifi. Message I get is "no WiFi hardware installed.
It did work till recently and tried all software fixes and I am quoted £150 for new WiFi hardware.
3) Even older imac 27"

2018
WiFi works but no way of updating.
4)2018 LG 50 Oled TV

My requirements
-lightroom
-storage (online and HD)
-photoshop
-word processing
I have a vast photo library (was a pro photographer)

1)Can these imacs or TV be used as an external monitor for the ipad?

2)If not, what would be a good external monitor @ approx £200?

And it time to consign my imacs to the bin?

I hope all that makes sense from this not very techy Scotsman!
I await your thoughts.
Thanks

I don't think that either of your iMacs can be used as an external monitor, if this article is correct:

Your TV is of recent vintage, and likely has an HDMI input port (thus could be driven by many different types of hardware with an appropriate adapter); what would you use as a computer to drive it? A new Mac Mini, perhaps?

If you were feeling tech adventurous you could likely install a Linux distribution like Ubuntu Mate on the 27" iMac with the working wifi. You wouldn't be able to run Lightroom or Photoshop directly on it, but you could use their free Linux equivalents of Darktable and Gimp. There is also DigiKam from the KDE project, and it has pretty strong digital photo asset management features.

Here in the States many people find that monoprice.com offers good value on monitors; I'm not sure if that would be an option for you in Scotland, however.
