2017 macbook pro no display

good evening all
i have a macbook pro 15 inch 2017 which does not display to an internal screen.
I get a display from an external display but only have a grey screen with a cursor.
I have tried a PRAM and SMC reset.
any advise would be greatly appreciated.

Sounds like a display or GPU issue to me. I think there was a recall for 2016/2017 MBPs because of this issue.

I had a 2016 screen go dark and it was the ribbon off the motherboard how it snakes through the hinge to the screen wore out due to opening and closing of the computer itself
