My new 27 inch Imac opens without asking for login password but does ask for it when it wakes from sleep mode. Is this the way it does things now? Im coming from a 2009 iMac running snow leopard so this is all new to me. It also takes longer to boot up from shut down but runs fine. If this is not normal is there a way to add a login after starting from full shut down mode? Thanks

Re the login password from a cold boot:
Go to the users & groups preference pane, and re-check your account settings.

Re the password from sleep:
Go to the security & privacy preference pane (general) and check your settings.
