Unfortunately, I don't have an external monitor or a USB-C hub to test this at the moment. I've mostly been using my 2018 12.9" iPad Pro as a tablet. Just recently I became aware of something called Shiftscreen. I'm still not quite sure what this is and what it does. I've watched a few YouTube videos and am still a bit confused. I know my iPad doesn't support stage manager so it won't cover the whole external screen. However, I'm reading that if I use Safari or even YouTube with Shiftscreen then it can output to the entire screen without black bars on the side? Is this true? If so, it'll cover most of my use case and can further delay the need to spend the money and upgrade my iPad Pro. Can I also get Netflix, Disney Plus, and YouTube TV to output to a 4K monitor or an ultrawide 2560x1080p monitor without any black bars?

Thank you!

No, as I mentioned in your other thread, you cannot use Safari or the youtube app with Shiftscreen, only their built-in apps and browser. But yes, with their browser you can play youtube at 16.9. Netflix and Disney plus I don't know if they work on their browser.
As I said in the other post, buy at your own risk, the apps has been abandoned by the developer.

InfiniteX2P is an alternative to Shiftscreen and is still being actively developed. I can’t say how well it works with your 2018 iPad Pro, but I use it once in a while with my iPhone.

It's basically like Shiftscreen but with a subscrition, so worse (at least Shifscreen is cheap)

It's only $10/year or $.99/month, any more than that, I may reconsider. If you get value from it, I think it more than pays for itself. In my case, on my 14 Pro - while everything the app can do mostly works (aside from paid video streaming apps; YouTube works, but I can't get Apple TV+ to work on a external display), there seems to be memory issues with some of the built in apps. I'd say at least try it out. I'm not sure if the app was even built with lightning devices in mind, as they were heavily promoting it with the 15 lineup. I would love to try this out with a 15 Pro, but I don't really want to upgrade at least until the 16 launches.

As someone who plays around with using the iPhone as her only computer, this app might be one of the few options for a good external display experience with an older iPad or iPhone. I used Shiftscreen years ago with an iPad, I think they called it quits when stage manager launched.

I personally wouldn't consider since it doesn't do more than Shiftscreen, but sure if you need it for a short period of time $1 a month is not much.
