Hello all,

I noticed that while updating my iPad Pro, it took a while for all the apps to update. I got suspicious and then speed tested the wifi speeds of both my 2018 Mac Mini and iPad Pro. Here are the results:

iPad Pro: 6.31 Mbps download; 5.29 Mbps upload
Mac Mini: 85.3 Mbps download; 13.2 Mbps upload

I restarted my iPad Pro and same results. Is this a faulty wifi card/iPad or is this expectant? Any help would help, especially suggestions to diagnose what's wrong with my iPad. Thanks in advance.

Try resetting network settings (under Settings->General->Reset). You'll only lose credentials saved for known networks.

Try another wifi network and test the speeds there. A slower connection is unlikely to be a hardware problem. Also restart your wifi router and check if it’s up to date with regards to firmware.

It probably isn’t related to hardware.

I'll try this.

Are both your Mac Mini and iPad Pro on the same WiFi networks; as in ~ both on either 2.4GHz or 5GHz?

Yes, both on the same network, both on 2.4Ghz

Try another wifi network and test the speeds there. A slower connection is unlikely to be a hardware problem. Also restart your wifi router and check if it’s up to date with regards to firmware.

I have, both at work and at home. The gap is similar :(

It probably isn’t related to hardware.

This was my biggest worry. Thanks for confirming.
