Hey,

I’ve noticed that my iPad Pro 2018 (12.9) has a yellow band across both the long edges of the display. These are uniform across the length and radiate from the edge of the screen. Has anyone else noticed this? I’m guessing its to do with the small bezels of the device, but I can’t seem to see the same issue on the display models in Apple Stores.

Any thoughts?

Sorry for the late reply

I have the same issue with an iPad Air 2

Yellow bands along the edges and in the corners , most noticeable on white backgrounds

I do not have an explanation as to why those bands appeared but I’m quite sure they haven’t been there when I first got this device (they are just too ugly and noticeable)

I began noticing those yellow bands around one year ago

It really ruins the otherwise immaculate laminated screen

It might be related to the glue but on such an old device that does not seem to be a satisfactory explanation

I got yellow bands all around the edges of my iPhone display but that was after many years of use, not something the latest iPad should have.

Get a replacement.

Had them on my 5S. I had 2 Air2s with book-spine effect. It’s LCD backlight which is never even. That’s why I love OLED. Try to change it if it disturbs you. But no guarantee that the replacement will be better unfortunately.

I wonder if it is the glue under the screen. Tesla S and X center displays have this issue around the edges after a year or so.
