Hey guys. I have a 2018 Macbook Pro. The D key came off; I can put it back on manually and it mostly stays in place, but it does not function well and makes composing / editing almost impossible. I'm going to buy a new Macbook Pro(2021-22 range probably), but tell me please, is there anything more I can do as a workaround in the meantime? Why is it so unresponsive even with key back on it? Is it because of debris in there? Thank you.

The keyboard probably can't be fixed.

Your "solution" (between "now" and "the new one") is to use a USB keyboard instead.

Get one of the new MacBook Pros, coming out in the next 5 days...

Thanks bro. I think you're right. I blew it out with compressed air and now it "works" again- as much as this keyboard has ever worked. I must say it's been unpleasant to work on this thing, and rough on my hands too. I really look forward to the new machine.
