So I just bought a 2018 IPP to replace my 1st gen 12.9" IPP and when I compared them side by side while watching a video from Netflix (for example) it looks like the 1st gen model has deeper blacks!? Anyone have a similar comparison available to them? I'm trying to decide if perhaps it's due to the True Tone and NOT a defective unit. Super sad, as I otherwise LOVE the unit.
On a side complaint, not loving the black frame for most apps, but I'm sure it's a matter of time for the apps to get updated to work on this model.

On a related note, I just realized the new iPad is 600 Nits, while the 1st gen is ~450 Nits. I'm wondering if thats the culprit.

What I noticed is PlunderPirates appears washed out. Other apps are fine.
But there is a difference, and adjusting brightness doesn’t help.

Try switching off True Tone under Settings. True Tone can be nice, but will e.g. greatly impact the color accuracy.
