Hi everyone,

It's time to upgrade my Ipad Air 1 (32gb), the aluminum shell is getting more & more marks/dings. Seems it's very brittle even with a Hard-shell case on it. My arm gently hit it against the wall today and nice chip happened on the corner, just crazy what's happening.

Looking to upgrade to the New ipad, my main concern is the screen quality being the cheap price point. How's the quality? watching movies and surfing the web or reading text.

Should I buy the new 2018 Ipad or save and get the Ipad pro 10.5

thanks for your time

The iPad (2018) uses the same display design as the Air, except it's about 10-15% brighter (nearly 500 nits).

If you were fine with iPad Air, you'll be satisfied with iPad (2018).

To me the screen on the iPad 2018 looks better than the one on the original Air. I can't imagine you won't be happier with it.

The 2018 is way brighter and more crisp with a starker ‘Blue’ tone being the major differentiator.
