I'm in the process of setting up my new Mac mini, and I don't yet have my speakers set up so I tried using the internal speaker. Set at 75% volume, playing a youtube video with just voices and the speaker is making a terrible crackling sound.

It seems to be a software issue, because I plugged in headphones and they were fine, but then upon switching back to the internal speaker the audio was clean. Anyone else experience a similar issue?

I class that to be an ‘emergency’ speaker anyway so wouldn’t rely on it for anything! Speakers important in a MacBook yes? Mac mini? Go external :)
