I’m in the market for a new work computer and have been looking at the new 2018 Mac Mini.

I run a print shop so do a lot of graphic design work and often have multiple photoshop files open at the same time.

I use Windows PC’s at work (largely due to cost), but prefer macOS for personal use.

What I would like to know is how does the Mac Mini compare to the likes of a full windows PC with a decent Core i5 CPU?

If I were to go with the Mac Mini route, it’d probably be the base model with the i7 upgrade.

If I went with a windows pc, it would be a similar cost but more memory, bigger hard drive, dedicated GPU, etc.

They use the same hardware so I'm not sure what you are asking, if you configure the same cpu and a very very fast SSD then you get the same hardware a part from thunderbolts and T2 chip.

But one it's a pc and the other it's a mac....so again I'm confused if you work solemnly on windows get a pc and you can save few bucks, if you work on mac then go for the mac mini.
