I have a new MacBook Pro along with an iPhone and iPad Pro. Before selling my last MBP I went to Apple and the sales person at Apple helped me backup my iTunes library to my external storage device.I have this library on my external storage device now. I have two devices that I sync with my MacBook Pro which are my iPhone and iPad. I would like for iTunes to sync with the previous library stored on my external storage device and merge info together from previous library on to my iPhone and iPad Pro. Would like for previous info to be merged with new info and have all info synced to external storage device to save space on my internal storage device on my MacBook Pro as each time it syncs it creates a a big backup file on my MacBook Pro.

I used to remember how to do this but forgot. Anyone here know how to do this? Can anyone here help with this? Many thanks.

iTunes menu > Preferences > Advanced > iTunes Media folder location > Change...
Thanks for kind reply. The problem I Have is when I plug in my external storage device all the files show but it will not allow me to click on previously saved photo library and iTunes library
