Any options for a Smart Cover this year? 3rd party or otherwise? I hate this new ‘folio’ trend... I like keeping a protective skin on the back of my iPads to keep it thin and light with a simple Smart Cover on the front to protect the screen.

Considering one of the USPs of this thing is it’s thinness, lightness and portability, I’m slightly baffled by the notion of adding weight and thickness to both the front and back.

Plus £100 for apple’s is a complete joke..

And the edges of the Apple folio are so sharp it's very uncomfortable to hold very long

So no sharpness issues like the Apple

Give me a minute and I'll pay a few pictures.

Ordered this ESR full coverage folio case from Taobao (Chinese website like Amazon).

It’s got a Smart Cover as well as a shell for the back.

Will post impressions when I get it.

I think it's the same one I got on Amazon. Good case, fits well. Only issue is the cutout on the left side in the case near the bottom of the left side for the cover to fold into is a bit irritating to our hand if you hold the case very long. It's this one:

They must have variations of the same type of case.

Your one has exposed bottom, the one I found has all around coverage.

Found some pics by others who have the case already

What I dislike on the original folio is that the backside at times just disconnect and I need careful balance not to drop the device. Happen often when I try to place in one of the rims and overbend slightly.

I know: I’m doing it wrong. But still should not cause a disconnection that quickly
