Hello everyone! I am confused about which one should i buy. I will use it for ios development and data science. I am a cs student so i want to use it for 4-5 years. 1.4 ghz macbook pro is enough for it? Which one do you suggest?

I’m in the same quandary. I use Lightroom, PS, and Logic though. Will go 16GB/512 regardless. But don’t need the extra TB3. So thinking about saving the money and going for the 1.4.

I think i will buy 16/256 1.4 but i couldnt decide yet. Do you know is there a difference between 1.4 and 2.4 for performance like day and night? Especially because of the base clock.

Definitely the 1.4. Just a matter of what upgrades you would want with it. Look at the threads maf posted or go on YouTube where plenty of content creators have posted their thoughts/review since many received it yesterday.

I could probably do with the horsepower of the 1.4, but will probably go with 2.4 for the extra two ports. I need to plug in quite a few external drives, and often do power intensive tasks, which means plugging in the power too. Since it appears that all entry level hubs decrease speed, that leaves little choice but to go for 2.4. Shame there is no intermediate model with four ports.
