So the fan on my wife's iMac just died. I did run a hardware diagnostic and that's what came up (PPF003 and 004). I also tried seeing if it was a sensor or the fan itself so I used the Fan Control app. It seemed to be able to see all of the relevant temps, but the fan speed was "0". This didn't kick in even when I set the app to "Full Blast".

So dead fan.

Does anyone know where I can find a replacement fan? I'm good at taking iMacs apart and this looks like an easy repair job...as long as I get the parts and a new set of adhesives from ifixit.

Faling that, what is the going rate for fan replacements at the Apple Store? The iMac is out of warranty.

Thanks!

Have you tried plugging in the power cable with the power button pressed down?
That should start the iMac with all fans on full blast - also always try a PRAM/NVRAM reset.

It is rather unlikely that a fan just dies. Or the connector wasn't plugged in properly?

Same situation, I even ordered a new replacement fan but the fan does not spin at all. Is it a logic board issue or what?
