2019 8 Core Macbook Pro 3 times slower than 6 Core Macbook Pro?!

Hello Guys,

I am a professional photographer working with Adobe Photoshop and Lightroom.

Couple of months ago I updated my 2015 15 inch Macbook Pro to a 6 core base 2019 15 inch Macbook Pro.
I was much faster and I really enjoyed working with it.
However it had only 256 gb SSD, so last week I decided to upgrade to a 8 core 1 TB Macbook Pro also from 2019.
Using blackmagic tests the 8 core CPU is about 25% faster and the SSD is about 200% faster at writing.
However I tested both computers at exporting 100 edited RAW photos to JPG at max quality and results were terrible -

The 6 core macbook took 2.34 minutes and the 8 core tool 7.47 minutes.

I am very disappointed and now maybe I am going to sell the 8 core to get a 6 core with 1 tb SSD.

Can someone advise on the cause of the issue?

I am using genuine Adobe software on both machines.

Just to isolate it as a possible cause... did you export the exact same 100 edited RAW photos, with the exact same edits?

Lightroom classic? Which version? Have you enabled GPU for image processing?

I exported the same exact 100 raw photos.
On both machines I am using Adobe Photoshop Camera RAW.

Have a look at Activity Monitor to see if there's something hogging processor capacity during your test. I suppose since you've had it a week indexing is done. I'd also ask at the Adobe forums.

and make sure the below is set to custom rather than auto.
