I mean, I like my 2019 iMac I got recently—it works great as a main desktop machine, but man, there are some issues. First, Outlook has been behaving weirdly, and now I've just hit another issue: Safe Mode doesn't work.
Well, it boots into Safe Mode, but as soon as the login window is supposed to show up, nothing happens, just a black screen. Then (this is the important, and weird part!) there are intermittent flashes of the login window that are completely distorted/discolored and have weird graphical artifacts. I've even seen TV static-looking glitches. The flashes of the login window last for about 1-2 seconds before disappearing.
This has happened both times I've booted the machine into Safe Mode. I'll try again tonight to see if the issue persists (I've rebooted it a bunch since I last tried, so maybe it's magically fixed, idk).
In the meantime, any clues as to why this is happening? Is the Radeon Pro 560X somehow faulty???
EDIT: I just remembered that when the GPU is under load, I'll experience weird pink lines in the menu bar. Wonder if this is related?
EDIT #2: Whoops! I forgot to include information about the OS—it's running Sonoma 14.2.1.
