May I ask why your interested in it? It seems like for more people EOL sales on 10.5 Pro's or even refurbished 10.5 pros provide more for the same or less cash.

Good question. I considered this myself as well. I planned to turn in my existing iPad for credit. So far as I can tell in the app, I cannot do this for the refurbished 10.5 iPad Pro.

Does the Smart Keyboard for the 2019 iPad Air also work for the 10.5” iPad Pro?

You actually could, it would just include an extra step before you get your tablet.

https://www.apple.com/shop/trade-in

You'll be able to trade in your current iPad to Apple for an Apple gift card using that link, and that gift card will be perfectly valid on a refurb 10.5 pro on Apples website :).

The smart keyboard is compatible on the 10.5 pro as stated on the products page https://www.apple.com/shop/product/MPTL2LL/A/smart-keyboard-for-105‑inch-ipad-air-us-english.

Your explanation makes perfectly reasonable sense, but if you want you could still get a 10.5 pro instead if your able to wait a few days for the device to be sent in and such.

This is actually a really great idea. I am seriously considering this now. Thanks!

I do think it’s interesting that all these people who had no particular interest in the 2017 pro suddenly are so interested in it since the new air launched. That pro has been available for 2 years. If you didn’t want it before now, what’s changed? (There have been deep sales for a while now)

As long as people keep reporting the flashlighting on the Pro, I'm not going near it. Air for me. Not having 4 speakers isn't an issue since I use headphones, and Promotion is cool but it's not worth possibly getting a defective screen. If Apple would come out and admit it was a problem that they fixed, I'd be all over it.

Yes. The Smart Keyboard for the iPad Pro 10.5" has simply been rebranded as the Smart Keyboard for the 2019 iPad Air. In fact, it's the exact same part number, despite the rebranding. In the new description it lists compatibility for both the Air and the Pro as well.

Ironically, reviewers for the Air have been receiving Smart Keyboards from Apple pre-rebranding, so they still say they're keyboards for the Pro on the box.

I have a larger want for a Smart Keyboard now. Also, the price is a little easier to swallow now compared to when it first came out. Currently the iPad pros are too expensive for me.

Didn’t even know this was an issue ...
