Think the 2019 will be an iterative "tock" update? Recall that the iPhone 7 was barely an upgrade from the 6S, and we basically saw a tick-tock-tock-tock cycle from 6-6S-7-8.

Wondering if we are in for more of the same next year with an incremental upgrade.

Not sure what else can be done, form factor wise. They said last year that the X was the ultimate goal from the beginning of the iPhone - just a front facing screen. Took them 10 years to get there. Outside of internal upgrades and some minor cosmetic tweaks, I think we’re stuck with it for a while.

Perhaps they can eliminate or at least greatly reduce the notch, paving the way to changing the aspect ratio? The iPhone screens have got too tall and thin, IMO.
