Hi there,

I own both a 2019 and 2020 5k iMac (both base models). I have noticed a significant mouse stutter on the 2020 model, where the 2019 is solid.

This issue is very apparent with a wireless mouse logi Mx anywhere 3, in both dongle mode and Bluetooth mode (even worse).

I recently bought a wired logi g203 with 1000 hz poll rate, which is solid and smooth on the 2019 iMac, but still microstutters on the 2020 iMac.

These behaviors are worse on Monterey. Catalina and Mojave (on the 2019) - the wired mouse is solid, no lag or stutter. On the 2020, regardless of OS, there is microstutter with the wired mouse.

I’ve tried changing the poll rates when on the 2020, but no changes - still stutters.

Is there some strange interference/hardware issue that makes my 2020 have this stutter? Does the display itself make a difference (as in who manufactures the panel)?

I know it’s a highly specific question, just hoping anyone might have shared experience/insight.

Thank you!

I have same problem - seems to have come from update on monterrey
its very hard to get windows to drag expand as the arrow symbol never stays or the dragging jumps to another screen object and when highlighting text by drag click it jumps and highlights partial text

I hope apple fixes this quickly its cost me a lot of time reselecting and redragging
