can you please advice shall i buy the above one at 2000 pounds or wait for the new M1 in 27 inch.

Hello - Have you checked that your games work well on Apple M1 native or Rosetta? I brought the 2020 Intel 27" iMac and am happy with it.

I can dual boot to Windows, play some games, do photo and video editing.

Please note that some games only run in 32bit on Mac so they do not work on the 2020 iMac as it only supports 64bit OS (10.15 Catalina and 11 Big Sur)

I did have a M1 Mac Mini which was silent, fast if not faster than my 8-core i7 so no doubt the new M1X / M2 will blow the pants off the current gen of Intel chips but can you wait for new iMac? Rumors say it will be 30" and more expensive than the high end 2020 iMac. The M series Macs will definitely last longer than the Intels in the long term.

Good luck

If you want to play Windows games, you pretty much have to buy the Intel model.

The US refurb store has a shedload of 2020 iMac 5K models for sale (bought one myself recently). You mention GBP so not sure what the story is on the UK refurb store, but it might be well-stocked, as well.

If you want a 2020 iMac that is best suited for video editing and games (as you state), you may wish to consider one that has the i7 with 5700XT GPU, which I suspect will cost you more than 2000 pounds. The 5700XT will probably give about 50% more fps than the 5500XT.
5700XT is not needed for picture editing.
