Simple question; have looked on Google but no answers really...

With my 2020 iPad Pro connected to my external Dell 24” 2k display via USB-C to DP, can IP somehow set the iPad Pro’s screen to turn off at all?

Cheers :)

What lid are you folks going on about? Sounds like an accessory? Folio case or something like that?

Yup; I’ve got my iPa Pro in an ESR case; hadn’t clicked that with it closed, if you press the keys on the keyboard, it comes up asking you for your pin to open the ipad etc :)

Works perfectly fine with the cover closed

Excellent thanks for clarifying. Now it only needs native resolution support for external displays and support for extended desktop as I don’t need a simply blown up interface. Maybe iOS 14 will give us that!

I’m just doing this as a temp measure until my new 2020 MBP lands with me; but all in it’s been a handy solution to work from, more so as I’m able to connect my Trackpad 2 and magic numeric keyboard etc :)

Oh I can relate. I wish my day to day stuff would all function in iOS but ill have to hold out a few more years for that.

Really like the current keyboard with numeric pad too - using the black version one mu Desk with the MBP.

Im referring to the iPad Pro as a lid.

Interesting. I was thinking about something like:
“a removable or hinged cover for closing the opening, usually at the top, of a pot, jar, trunk, etc.; a movable cover.”

Hence I couldn’t understand what that would be on a flat sheet of glass which is the device. ;)

Fine, fair enough. 😄

Yes!

I doubt this works. If you peep in the case, you will see that the display is still on. Any other ways to keep the iPad off?
