Yeah, so if you happened to see my previous post you know of my issue with my first 2021 12.9” iPad Pro. The screen would be at full brightness and then dim, sometimes twice, for a period of time and then go back up to full brightness again. Auto brightness was turned off and ruled out of the equation as the issue.

I am receiving my second iPP today, but I have a fear that it will suffer from the same problem. Could someone do me a solid that has the 2021 12.9” iPad Pro and try out a test for me? Put it on full brightness with auto brightness turned off and make sure that it does not dim the screen whatsoever in the time that you are using it. I know it’s asking for a lot, but it would subside my worries.

I would be very thankful to anyone that could check this out for me and help me stop worrying about it. I’ll have mine in about 8-9 hours, but finding out sooner would be fantastic. Thank you to anyone that can help me run this test. And thank you all for reading!

Something that is weird af is my iPhone 11 Pro Max is doing the exact same thing that the iPP did before, but I assumed it might be damage due to cleaning my phone over the last year or so that I’ve had it. This isn’t normal, right?

I mean, if it’s getting delivered today then why not just try it out yourself when it gets delivered?! ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Well I can assure you on manual setting it doesn’t change the brightness when I cover the sensors or aim iPhone flash at them. Same with True Tone off (which I’m starting increasingly to appreciate), it doesn’t change the white balance on off.

You're supposed to use it, not worry about it.
