So, I’ve noticed at random times my 2021 12.9” iPad Pro screen will dim and sometimes do it twice in a row, each time making the display more dim. Does anyone else have this issue with their iPad Pro? I don’t have auto-brightness on and my brightness is all the way maxed out. I was thinking it might be an overheating issue, but the iPad Pro doesn’t feel warm, so I don’t know about that theory.

Anyone know about this issue?

Do you have a full coverage screen protector on the device at all that’s covers up the camera module on the top?

I contacted Apple Support and we ran a diagnostics test and the ambient light sensors are functioning properly. I think we came to the conclusion that the cause of it is my continued usage of Affinity Photo. I use it A LOT, so it makes sense that’s why it is dimming the screen. From what they said, it’s a way of prolonging the lifespan of the hardware. I feel relieved to know my iPad Pro is going to be just fine. :D

I have noticed my iPad dimming when I don’t expect it to and every single time I’m outside sitting in the sun I think it’s a heat issue. I was having the issue with the case on today and removed the case and it stopped doing it . Mine is because it’s overheating. Nothing to do with apps. Is there such a thing as a cooling case?
