iPad 2021 iPad Face ID problem?

Anyone else finding issues with the new 2021 iPad not being as reliable for Face ID? In particular in landscape mode? My old one would work 90% of the time, but this is less than 50. I've tried resetting It multiple times, but it just isn't reliable. It's better if I look directly at the camera, but still not great. Wonder if it's part of the new face tracking system or something.

i SO wish apple would realize that most of us use it in landscape mode and just move the damn camera (Or put in a second one).

No. Mine is as reliable as the older model. Nothing has changed imo.
But yes, front camera better be moved to the centre, but then logic board would be tricky to manufacture and design, so who knows.

No, it detects my face perfectly all the time.
