I'm a long time Mac user, starting with the original 17in Powerbook. I'm also elderly, with poor eyesight, so I've always had to reduce the screen resolution to make text easier to read. This has worked out well across the different models I have had, although the smallest resolution provided by Apple has constantly increased as displays have improved.

I'm now using a 2019 16in at a resolution of 1152x720 (Larger Text) which has been satisfactory. I'm considering buying the 2021 16in model, but wanted to check on the resolution provided.

You would think this would be an easy question to answer - the "Tech Specs" provided by Apple used to have a section "Supported esolutions" - but no more.

I've tried googling this question, but only found one site that speculated on the resolutions by looking at the OS code.

I called Apple but they were unable to answer the question!

That is why I'm turning to the trusty crew at MR. All some intrepid soul has to do, if they have a 16in M1 model is to go to the Displays option in Syatem Preferences and temporarily invoke the "Larger Text" option!!

Thanks in advance...

Thanks so much for the quick replies!! Now I'm wondering if Easyres or similar tools can provide even more resolution settings and if they even work on the new models?
