Apple charges $180 for a 8MB upgrade when you purchase a Mac Mini. A quick search on Google shopping shows you can get an 8GB ram stick for around $20. HP sells an 8MB upgrade for $70.

Why on earth would Apple ever do this? Is it just pure greed? Why not just charge $40 (double the price) and sell A LOT MORE Mac Minis????

It’s not a RAM stick in a mini though. I’m not saying that Appledknt mark it up but it’s more expensive to incorporate the memory into a SoC than just to produce a stick
