Sorry for the weird or perhaps common sense answerable question, but I wanted to check for certain.

On Apple’s website for computer configuration, the Power Adapter section. Upgrading from the 70w to the 96w adapter, is it only the power brick that’s upgraded or is the cable an upgrade, too?

I am asking because I prefer Anker to Apple’s accessories. I will get an Anker 100w Power Adapter and not upgrade Apple’s stock Power Adapter from 70w to 96w (unless the cable upgrades, too), but I want to use Apple’s MagSafe to USB-C cable. If the cable remains the same regardless, I don’t need to upgrade. If the cable also upgrades, I’ll need to upgrade.

Thanks.

Wait, so the new MageSafe cables are removable? I had no idea. I’m going to plug it into my Anker 100W GAN charger. Way more compact and it’s black so it matches! And it can also charge my iPhone Pro Max and Apple Watch Ultra. Only going to use it when I’m going mobile, at my desk I’ll use USB-C since that also connects data through my TB hub. Or can the newer cable also handle data? I know the newer iMac power cables can carry data for Ethernet.
