I'm looking at secondhand 2023 MBPs (14" M2 or 16" M2) on eBay. Given that none are more than a year old at this point, is there a reason that the original AppleCare warranty would not be still active?

One of the systems I was looking at claims to have a keyboard with a problem (seller claims not to know why). In the case that it isn't under warranty, does anybody know what a keyboard replacement (I guess it's the entire top case?) costs on the 2021/2023 models (seems to be the same part).

It should have the international 1 yr Apple factory warranty. Can only speculate that it was fluid damaged by the previous owner and as such, the claim was rejected.

You DO NOT want to buy a computer "from ebay" (or from any other source) that has a "known problem".

Get something that's GOOD, right from the start.

If you want a Mac, I wouldn't buy one from anywhere else other than Apple (new or refurbished) or an authorized reseller.

Just too many chances of a seller selling off something with problems (whether they tell you about "the problems" or not)...
