I had a 12.9 iPad Pro 4th generation that sounded great when watching movies, etc.

Decided to downsize to the new OLED iPad Pro 11 inch. Also bought my wife one.

i find the speakers on my iPad are nowhere close to how good they were on my prior iPad but my wife’s iPad (same exact as my new one) sound better. My volume just doesn’t seem as loud or have the quality here seems to have.

Are there any speaker issues on the new iPad? Her screen quality even seems a tad richer when I put them side by side playing the same Netflix scenes.

Am I crazy? lol

I also find the sound quality worse on my M4 ipad. The sound feels more hollow, and I often have to crank up the volume just to get the same loudness compared to my previous 2018 iPad Pro (eg: 70% on YouTube compared to 50% previously).

I assume it’s simply a consequence of making the ipad thinner. Something had to give when redesigning the internals.

The speakers on the M4 are not as good as the M1/M2, that’s for sure. The main complaint is that with the decreased thickness, the sound is not as loud or as full.

That being said, it’s definitely odd that you are comparing 2 different 11” M4 side by side and seeing a difference though. The 2 should have fairly similar sound and screen quality. Can’t hurt to take them both to the Apple Store and have them check it out, especially if you are still within the return window.
