Well I have now been the proud (?) possessor of a 21.5" imac for 6 months. What a big disappointment it is as well. I have had problem after problem, ie screen freezing up & the only way out of it was to press the power button, windows on the desktop not completely clearing, clicking on sleep & all that happened was the coloured beachball spinning away & when trying to wake it from sleep by pressing the space bar nothing happened, I had to pull the power plug out of the back and then when I refitted it it started okay. I am sure I never had these problems with a "cheaper" windows PC which I used for many many years.
Paying that amount for an imac I just cannot believe what a problem the imac is.

One of the perks of the warranty is you can get to Apple and ask them for help.

It may be that your machine is faulty, or that you use the Mac wrong and have something installed or changed that causes those hiccups.

Btw, I had four Mac and only one of them gave me a serious problem when the logic board died, which was replaced under warranty.

Sorry for your experience but mine is just the opposite since my switch from PC's to the iMac. You make no mention of service have you had it in to be checked? Surely you know that many people have the same problems with PC's even if you have not.

Whilst I was still within the 90 day telephone period I did phone Apple but the assistance they gave only lasted for a short while and then the 90 day period was up. I suppose my only answer is to take out the Applecare now.
