Most likely an i5 clarkdale, but apple would most likely hold off on i7 clarkdale entirely, or keep it as a bto option for business reasons. i5/i7 clarksfield or lynnfield are a no-go.

the i3 is a possibility, no one but apple really knows.

FYI, The Clarkdale chips are dual core. I doubt we will see a quad core in a 21.5 iMac.

size of the display not factored in, would a 21.5' updated imac be any better then a i5 27' from refurbed store?

Yeah, only if the refurbished model has the i5 and mobility 4850. None of the lower end gpus Apple would offer in the lower end iMacs would beat 4850. Also, the possible new cpus apple would provide (most likely clarkdales hovering in the 3ghz range) would only be 60-70 percent of the performance of the i5-- maybe up to 90-100% of the performance in single threaded tasks.

Highly doubt it, I think we will most likely see Core i3 or i5 Dual Core Processors.. I wouldn't mind seeing a Quad Core AMD Phenom II
