I'm a diehard Apple fan - got everything except apple TV basically. Needless to say I was pretty disappointed in my iMac's yellow screen issue. I wouldn't fuss over it normally but as an imaging professional, I needed the best screen I could get at this price range. That's why I went with Apple again when the iMac revision came in at mid 09 with the 1TB and dedicated graphics model.

It finally got so bad I couldn't handle it anymore and took it in. After two replacements (they normally only do one), I was looking at a third screen that was actually worse than my original one. The rep told me he couldn't do anything else but after looking up how much stuff I bought from them, he came back and brought me a brand new iMac 27". What's strange is that while I only had 2 days left in my original warranty, he gave me an extra 2 years (free apple care?) on my new machine - so I left a happy camper with a new 27" i3 :) Screen looks perfect too - tested out before I left Apple - couldn't believe they could have a beautiful, non yellow unit available.

Apple rocks - I'm absolutely satisfied. I think as long as you're nice and has a good reason - in my case, I'm a photographer - they will work best to accommodate you and their products.

Before & After :)

Thanks Daniel - I was definitely a happy camper :D

gdeputy - it's a simple build it yourself desk from Ikea. I think it came out to about $250 if you go for the black tempered glass like this. Otherwise, regular glass or wood option puts you at around $150. In any case I really love it and it's a great desk. I wanted something super minimalistic so a big flat surface is great!

Congrats!

I wonder how did you workaround the yellow tinge issue being a photographer. I just bought an 21.5" to do photography work just to find the yellow tinge in my screen. Do you have any suggestions? Do you have a calibrated icc profile that I could borrow?

Thanks!

That's awesome :D

It probably would have cost them more money to fix the screen again then giving you a new iMac.

But, probably helped that you're a pro photographer (awesome photos between).

Even though I've had tons of problems with my Macs lately i still love :apple: :D

My first mac was Macintosh 512Ke that I got from my dad :)
