Ocasionally a lower end 24" (2.66Ghz) refurbished imac shows up for sale in refurbished bin of the apple store. Need your help in deciding if it is a good buy? At the present I'm serious about getting base 21.5" one, refurbished or new.

Your comments will be greatly appreciated.

I would get the 21.5, it may be slightly smaller screen, but its a better quality screen (if there are no defects) and The CPU is much better at 3.06, That what i would buy, plus its just a little more future proof and will have better resale value in the long term.

iMac 24" 2.66GHz GeekBench = 3565
iMac 21.5" 3.06GHz GeekBench = 4297

Plus, you can install 16GB of RAM in the new iMac, and only 8GB of RAM in the 24". The 21.5" is a great deal when compared to the previous models. Its $999 when on the Refurb Store

Many thanks for quick responses. Will do as you said.
