Certainly there are other options. the dell 2005(insert weird numbers here) is really good. They are pretty cheap.

There is a viewsonic monitor floating around the forums that I hear is quite delectable as well.
 
I own that Gateway monitor. It a very worthwhile purchase if you're going to take advantage of it's features. Otherwise, there are some other comparable models out there that are a little bit less expensive if you don't need any of the extra inputs or tilt.
 
Save your money and buy a 20.1" viewsonic widescreen for $354 -$15 if you use coupon at buy.com. This is the same lcd screen used in the Dell 2007fpw but with a smaller price tag. Search the board for "viewsonic widescreen" you will find people talking about it.

I've got the gateway 21". It's a fantastic display...supports HDCP so it will work with protected HD-DVD/Bluray when they eventually come out.
