Costco now carries MacBook Pros and iMacs in our local store so I played around with them. To my surprise, the 21-inch iMac supports QHD resolution which would be useful at home. Right now I plug in a MacBook Pro to a QHD display but it would be nice if I didn't have to do the plugging and unplugging all the time. I'm not planning on buying any MacBook Pros until they fix the keyboard issues and offer a powerful model without the Touch Bar.

The iMac would make for a nice interim solution. I'm impressed with the CPU options and the power of the GPU but they nickel and dime you on RAM and Storage. I would like to get 32 GB of RAM for future-proofing but 16 GB would be fine for the next couple of years. 8 wouldn't be enough. 256 GB SSD with external 2 TB SSD should provide enough storage.

The main application would be trading. Anyone with one of these with first impressions of these at load with additional external monitors?
