21 vs 27 for photos?

We put product silk fabric photographs on a website daily and need color that is as accurate as possible

I understand the glare issue for iMacs and accept that.

It seems that in terms of color the iMac screens are quite good.

Now is there an advantage to the larger screens other sheer size?

We can afford a 27" screen financially but desk top space is limited so we would strongly prefer the 21 monitor.

Any thoughts?

I am 100% spoiled to my dual 27" monitors at work. There is so much room to to work with. I never thought I would use so much monitor space, but I do...it's just awesome.

If you can figure out a way to get your desk to accomodate the 27", I'd go for it. It'll spoil you.

The PPI is marginally higher on the 27" (102 vs 109), but I doubt you'd notice it, I'd say go w/ the 21.5"

More accurate monitors exist...but they are very expensive and I dont think youd need it (or notice it). Id say go with the Apple 27...youll love it. Also, Dell's U2711 is a fantastic monitor with much better connectivity options and a matte screen (in case its a bright room)...and can be found for slightly cheaper.

21 is fine but 27 is better for photo work, you can see more image at a time or two images.

For color accuracy you need a monitor calibration device (spider, huey, etc...)...

My vote goes for 27" just move things around your desk...

As an update yesterday my wife and I took a trip to an Apple store to look at the new monitors.

We both feel in love with the 27" monitor

I am going to see if we can make space on the desk. Part of our space problem is misc office paperwork not related to the creative process. So we made a trip to Office Depot while we were out and ordered some filing cabinets.

So we should have room for the 27" monitor and our scanner and phone.

I feel like a kid at Christmas. I am very excited about this purchase.

Next, I will search a bit on this forum for calibration advice.
