I called the store @ the Christiana mall yesterday and the rep wasn't sure if they had the 2.8 Ghz models. All he knew is they were in the back and they had 20" and 24" models.

Anyone spot any 2.8s in stores yet?

bummer...my father was looking at picking up the 2.8....but for the price difference, I think he'd be better off with a 2.4

They are NOT available at the Apple store...I drove an hour last night (one way) to buy one after I called to make sure that they had the new IMACs.

Sure enough they have all models available EXCEPT the 24" 2.8....what the heck is up with that? I have since ordered mine and I guess now I wait.

The 2.8 24"ers are not in stores, they may be at sometime but not yet. Anyway if you really want one, I suggest ordering the $1,799 24"er with the 2.4, changing the CPU to 2.8 and the HDD and mouse to whatever you want. That way it will come with 1GB (1 stick) of RAM. You save $150 + tax off the 2nd stick. Get a 2GB stick for 3 total for $115 or get 2x2GB for $230. That's less than $80 more than the 2GB model from Apple for 4GB total. I ordered it that way with the 750GB drive. I wanted more internal storage and didn't want to open it up to change out the drives since it's not user accessible.

Thats a nifty idea Roland.G. Think i'm gonna do that with my wifes iMac that she's about to buy! This way she can get her RAM from a 3rd party supplier for far cheaper!! :)

Cheers!!!
