Hello, question is in the subject - can the 2.8Ghz 24 iMac take the 2TB HD (WD caviar black). I know people installed 1TB drives with no issues.

Also, can anyone recommend a place in Chicago-land to install it? I've done several upgrades to my old mac mini, upgraded HDs in my MBP (non-unibody), I've built PCs in the past, but I'm still not sure if I want to mess with this upgrade myself.

i'd go with yes.
pretty sure all intel macs (and ppc with sata?) can support all existing sata drives including the new 3TB ones.
