It is not showing up in the system nor is it being found in photobooth or any other program.. anyone have any ideas how to fix or what could be wrong?

Do you have parallels running by any chance? I know you have the option to select the "built in isight" -- I have not used it personally. I DO know when I use other USB devices in parallels (printer, card reader, ect...) they vanish from OSX until I quit parallels.

Not showing up in the system -- as in you can't see it under the System Profiler USB tab?

sorry for the lack of info before but no i'm not running parallels and yes I have tried a restart many times.. The camera is not showing up in the system profiler or any other program that will incorporate the camera.. any clues to whats wrong would be of great help. thanks everyone.

Try this dude...SHUT DOWN...not restart, but shut down, then wait 10 seconds then turn on.

It will restart the firmware and I bet your camera will be there again. Let me know!!!

Strange it would vanish completely - the computer should be under warranty, swing by an apple store - just be sure to back up your files before hand, in case they decide that a re-install will fix things.
