Hi,

Every time I update my iMac with a software update (i.e. today I did the office 04 update), when I restart my comp, or turn it off, then turn it back on, it hangs on the white screen (no white logo) until I reset the SMC. Any ideas? Once I can get it to boot its completely functional...
Thanks

We've had quite a few customers coming in with issues like this - apparently, during the "optimization" phase there's quite a bit of pre-binding that goes on and if the process is interrupted in any way at a crucial point it can mess up the system folder...not quite sure how this would affect the SMC, but it may be worth leaving it completely alone the next time with no screen saver etc turned on. HTH.
