Hey everyone i'm new to all of this but i had a few questions:

I'm running a 24inch imac and recently I've been getting dead pixels around my screen in patches when it's really hot, or the sun hits the screen. over time the screen goes back to normal when it's in the shade. the first time it happened the guy at applecare was unsure what was wrong with it, because the screen went back to normal, and he thought my screen was broken or something, but because it fixed itself they couldn't do anything about it. i was wondering if anybody else had this problem and if so, how have you fixed it? because as i type the bottom right side my of screen appears to be getting darker.... also i know that using programs to check temperatures isn't that reliable, but my mac feels really hot and my istat widget says that my north-bridge is almost 80 C! is that normal?

Many thanks

Kaps

keep a close eye on it an document when it happens.

call applecare regularly when it happens for longer periods of time

only documentation and calls will get you on the radar for fixing, or even better, replacement.

thanks for the replies, i've heard that altering your mac's fans is not good for the mac. what i am going to do is take pictures of my mac screen every time it happens and note time and date, if it happens more then 5 times, i will contact apple again... i hope i won't need to though. thank you again :D
