24" owners...SMC versions?

If you own a 24" iMac, can you please post what version your SMC controler is, and whether or not you have updated to 10.4.8?

This will be a great help in trying to troubleshoot a fan problem I am having. Thanks in advance for the help

no change to the SMC

DARN IT! I was hoping this would help cure my odd fan behaviour. If it doesn't install an upgrade to the SMC, that would appear unlikely. Of course, I most notice this issue when waking from sleep, so....I guess I will upgrade and hope for the best................................

Where are you two located with the 1.10f3 SMS versions? And have you tried to install XP using bootcamp?

I too have the 1.10f3 and have installed bootcamp and everything was fine and I am on the eastern coast

I'm in the Netherlands.

Yes, I tried installing XP using bootcamp, no problem at all. I'm using a retail Windows XP Professional SP2 CD. Please note that my new iMac 24" also has a different model Superdrive than earlier versions (PIONEER DVD-RW DVR-K06)

I upgraded my firmware this morning, but the SMC is still 1.10f2...is the SMC 1.0f3 a part of the OS 10.4.8 upgrade?

Haven't had a chance to check out the fan noise yet....

Good luck with that .... very impressed with the low noise levels of this machine.

Referring to the earlier post - I also have this Pioneer DVD-RW DVR-K06 model of superdrive.
