Hello

I am looking to buy a new Mac(my first one). Gaming performance is a major concern for me. Otherwise both the products will more than suffice for other uses.

Apple India does nt offer Built to Order option here :( ...
so my choice is between stock 24" iMac or 15.4" MBP (one with 2.4GHz).

http://www.barefeats.com/santarosa.html
In these benchmarks the iMac performs much better than the lastest MBP.

Do the iMacs use the desktop variants of the GPU, the 1600 on the iMacs is different from the 1600 on the prev MBPs??

"if" a iMac comes out with 128MB of 8600 GT(desktop variant-as ppl have mentioned in other threads that the iMacs uses them) and 1 GB RAM [talking abt the stock model] will it perform better than a MBP (with 256MB of 8600GT Mobile nd 2 GB RAM)...???

Bottom line : Should I wait for the new iMacs considering that I can get only the default configurations?

Thanks in advance.

This question was already answered here in another thread you started today which would have been a great place to put this post.

yes I read them...

Trying to see if more than one person can confirm that the stock iMac would do better than the MBP.
