Hi guys,

Got a real problem here perhaps someone can help me with;

I have been using Toast 8 since I got my iMac for a variety of projects and it's been great!, however last night I was making a divx disc and as soon as I put the blank disc in the beach-ball came up for a second Toast quit with no error message and no error log, this happens with any disc burning project. I thought I would try to make a disc image and them burn it, it gets to about 3% then quits and thats when I DO get an error message. I have bought Tech-Tool Pro and run every test under the sun with repair mode switched on and I get perfect results, repaired permissions etc....The only thing I have noticed is the 'Power Supply 1' Tab in iStat Pro seems to get very high, e.g between 79 and 83.C, that seems very hot to me.....can anyone suggest anything, I need my fix of House and CSI lol.:apple::apple:

Oh, forgot to mention, when I'm doing a 'disc related project' when it quits and I get no error message a window pops up and ask me what i want to do with this blank disc, yknow the apple window, i haven't seen this window before.

It may not necessarily be the computer, it may be that Toast has become corrupt which can happen since it's just software. My recommendation would be to go into Spotlight and type in "toast", "roxio" and anything related to Toast and drag the files to the Trash and empty it. Reinstall Toast.

Thanks for the advice, I am going try that tomorrow, something which I have just found which may be relevant though;

I went into the Console to check a few things (actually I thought someone had been using my computer without my say so lol) and I found a number of crash log refrences, I went to Library/Logs/Crash Reporter where the log was supposed to be located and I found a file called ExitedProcess.crash.log. Inside that I found hundreds of lines of crash logs which relate to toast as that is the only program which has crashed here is the most recent log, If someone could tell me what it means I would really appreciate it!:apple::apple:
