I was looking at the 2021 Mac Studio power consumption and noticed the M1 Max SKU had a max power input of 115W. That's 25W less than the 140W USB PD charger for a top-end 2021 MBP 16" M1 Max.

The M1 Ultra max power is 100W more at 225W.

Last May 2022 240W USB PD cables started shipping.

It is possible when supply of M2 Ultra chips surpass demand for a 2023 Mac Studio M2 Ultra that Apple may come out with a new 2023 MBP 16" M2 Ultra SKU with a 240W USB PD charger.

At CES 2023 the 1st Intel Core i9-13900HX laptops were announced. These outperform MBP 16" M2 Max laptops while using 330W chargers.

Yes it is possible.
A MacBook Pro M1 ULTRA / M2 ULTRA and M3 ULTRA would be great.
But I still prefer a MacBook Pro M1 Extreme / M2 Extreme and M3 Extreme.
16- 18- 20-inch is fine.

Then wait for 3nm node 1.5 years from now as it would require more than 330W charger.

It should sell for $10k for the 64GB RAM 1TB SSD SKU.

Assuming a more robust HSF solution it could in theory overcome it.
yeah, but look at new M2 MBpro with smaller HSF than M1, Apple is going in another direction 😄
or M1 pro/max had big reserve in temps so they said screw it, people are used to Intel space heaters so they will tolerate temperature jump from M1 to M2
