For Apple's developers to think everyone in the world must use 30fps is plain arrogant and to add 24fps means they have no idea about video creation in the modern world.

25fps = EU, Australia & NZ, and most of ASIA.
24fps = A legacy cinema standard no one uses except a cinema projector. The correct frame rate for universal movie use is 23.98 fps.
30fps = North and South America.

Why do you want to shoot in 25fps? Is it because you are viewing on 50hz TVs? If so might be smoother to shoot in 60fps and then pulldown to 50fps. There's not much perceived difference between 24 and 25 in a visual manner.

24.000 fps is used *extensively* during most content creation workflows including digital capture for broadcast/streaming. It’s anything but legacy. It’s even a part of the BluRay spec (note that 25.000 progressive is not.) Do you think the company behind Final Cut Pro does not know what they're doing just because you've ripped a few Blu-Rays?

Usually if a 23.976 (or 25.000) master is required it will be conformed to and compressed/stretched to that target frame rate from a 24.000 source.

Native 25fps capture does occur in PAL territories, but it is rare. Which is why "PAL speedup" is a thing -- because it's usually been stretched from 24 to 25, not filmed at 25.

But if you do wish to capture native 25 or 50fps content, Filmic Pro will do it.

You want to go DOWN in FPS? Wow... just cause 24/25 FPS is "video standard" doesn't mean its a good standard. Video should be more like what eyes see in reality since day one, 60 FPS..

This has to be one of the silliest post in a while. Mac's have been the standard in video production departments and studios for a loooong time. Yet you claim Apple has no idea about video creation?? Seriously?

I believe the OP is concerned with "judder" resulting from inconsistent frame cadence.

OP: What is the application and devices you are using that this is an issue?

Shoot in 24fps, convert to 25 in post. The PAL format just won’t die.

24p in the iPhone is likely a 23.98p just with an easier name. DSLRs do that as well... 23.98 conforms well in the NTSC 30p/60i framerate. Also 30p is the half of 60HZ screen refresh frequency most smartphones have, so playbacks better on the phone without any conversation or pulldowns. 24p is not legacy as all DCPs require the master to be in 24p to pass QC.
