Hello I just got this iMac G3 from a yard sale for $25. When turned on there is an odd graphics glitch. I have tried reseating the ram, and even when an external monitor is connected there is the same issue. Any feedback would be greatly appreciated. Images Attached.

Well according to the last image it looks like the RAM tests failed. You said you reseated the RAM, but:
  • If you have multiple sticks installed (it looks like you might), try booting with only one stick, and try alternating the slots as well. If you have graphics issues with one stick but not the other, it's probably gone faulty and should be replaced. Likewise with slots.
  • If you have just one stick, it's probably gone faulty and needs to be replaced.

Thank You,
After trying this the same results occurred with both sticks. Looking at both sticks side by side one of them is physical larger compared to the other. Could this be a problem? (Will upload a picture if requested)

The size shouldn't matter as long as it fits.

While it is totally possible that both sticks failed, it's more likely that either the graphics or the logic board has failed. Try and get your hands on the Apple Hardware Test for your model and see where exactly the problem is. You can find various AHT versions on the Macintosh Garden.

Looking at this, I'd leave only one RAM stick and test it on each slot in that iMac and see if anything changes, then try again with the other RAM stick. Just as Doq said, it's very possible for RAM sticks to fail. I had a situation on a machine where it appeared that out of three RAM sticks, only one was fully functional while one of them was detected but seemed to be faulty and the last RAM stick was just totally dead. Only one RAM stick ended up being fully functional.

If you still have graphical issues after testing both RAM sticks individually, I'd just go ahead and get some cheap compatible replacement RAM that works or pull some out of another machine to see if that makes a difference.

Just as Doq mentioned, the graphics or the logic board failing is possible. I would not totally say this is the case though just yet but it is very much is a possibility.
